Tamar Mogendorff creates the most amazing, one-of-a-kind objets d'art, all hand-crafted from collaged vintage fabrics, linens, tweeds, antique embroideries, and other sculpturally suggestive fabrics. The stuffed objects or 'dolls', as Mogendorff refers to them, are further animated with antique buttons and beads, silver threads, and vintage ribbons. I am totally smitten with the seahorses, koi, and coral above.
Mushroom outcroppings and peacocks in full bloom might also be the perfect way to populate an urban habitat or any living space devoid of nature-based pageantry and old-fashioned organic charm.

A small selection of her pieces are also available at the very groovy design boutique, Auto, in NYC's Meat Packing District.
