CurlyShade, steambent Cornish ash by Sixixis
Chaise Longue No. 4, locally-sourced British Oak by Sixixis
Origin: The London Craft Fair (week 2) is on view in the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court at Somerset House during October 9 - 14, 2007. The event brings together over 300 of the most innovative and influential international designer-makers and is a rare opportunity to meet the crafters in person and buy their work. Objects on view range from fashion accessories to functional and decorative objects, with the opportunity to commission one-off works of contemporary craft. My favorites are the curvilinear bent wood eco-creations of the design collective Sixixis and the 'Eternal Lace' (needle-made lace using recycled plastic bags) pieces of Laura Anne Marsden.
