Open House Visit with Hildur Asgeirsdóttir Jónsson

Posted on: Thursday, June 10, 2010

The above photos are from an open house that I attend the other evening for artist Hildur Asgeirsdóttir Jónsson. Curator, artist, and social spaces innovator, Austin Thomas, was the co-host of this event. Hildur lives between Iceland and Ohio, and her work ethereally demonstrates both intimate connections and distant views of landscapes suggestive of her northern homeland. An alchemical fusing of both silk weaving and painting also creates surfaces that are multi-dimensional and atmospherically pure in palette.
