Lost in Fiber: The Gathering Overview + Contributors

Lost in Fiber: The Gathering is a year long collaborative project where I will unite artists and designers from the U.S. and Europe for a textile art installation and book project that will document materiality and slow craft methodology. I will personally gather 'scrap' material from select contributors to synthesize and highlight the conceptual and visual connections between their various processes and studio environments.

Brooklyn-based knitwear designer and pattern maker Courtney Cedarholm will work with me to create a wearable/sculptural component for the project and one-ply handspun yarn by Josi Faye in Tennessee will serve as the 'connective tissue' throughout. The final art project and tactile documentation of these interactions will be exhibited in NYC during Autumn/Winter 2014-15 and then travel internationally.
